Sanskar Canada Celebrates Two Joyful Weeks of Summer Camp
Sanskar Canada successfully completed two engaging weeks of Summer Camp for children, featuring the themes of Public Speaking and Board Games. The camp provided a welcoming environment where children could learn, express themselves, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful activities with their peers.
During Public Speaking Week, the children developed communication and presentation skills through interactive group activities. On Friday, they proudly shared their learning with parents through a lovely presentation on the different types of devotion. Working in small groups, the children explained their ideas and also shared chants and bhajans, creating a joyful and spiritually uplifting experience for everyone.
Board Games Week was filled with excitement, teamwork, and laughter. Participants enjoyed a wide variety of board games in small groups while discovering the skills, patience, planning, and strategies required to successfully complete each game. Bingo was a favourite activity and brought great enthusiasm and friendly competition throughout the camp.
Dance jamming, meditation, relaxation, and mindfulness activities continued throughout both weeks. These sessions encouraged children to pause, experience stillness, develop calmness, and become more aware of their thoughts and emotions.
The goal of Sanskar Canada’s Summer Camp is to provide children with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, communication skills, teamwork, and emotional well-being. Children who learn to positively channel their energy are better able to focus, remain calm, express themselves confidently, and approach challenges with patience and clarity.
The two-week camp concluded with happy memories, new friendships, valuable learning, and proud moments shared with families. Sanskar Canada looks forward to continuing to offer enriching programs that support the social, cultural, spiritual, and personal development of children.

A Friendship Full of Love

On a rainy afternoon, a poor man named Sudama started a journey to visit his childhood friend, Krishna. Although they had grown up together, their lives had become very different. Krishna was now a king, while Sudama was struggling to provide for his family.
Sudama’s wife encouraged him to visit Krishna and ask for help. Sudama felt embarrassed, but he still went. He carried a small bag of flattened rice as a gift because it was the only thing he could afford.
When Sudama arrived at Krishna’s palace, he was nervous and wondered if his old friend would remember him. To his surprise, Krishna joyfully rushed to greet him. He hugged Sudama and treated him with great love and respect. Krishna did not care that Sudama was poor. He only cared about their friendship.
The two friends spent hours talking about their childhood memories. Sudama was so happy that he forgot to ask Krishna for help. Before leaving, he thanked Krishna for his kindness and returned home.
When Sudama reached his village, he was amazed. His small, broken house had been replaced with a large, beautiful home. Krishna had quietly helped his friend without being asked.
Sudama realized that true friendship is not based on wealth or status. It is based on love, kindness, and caring for one another. The memory of Krishna’s kindness filled his heart with happiness.
Moral: From this story, we learn that true friends stay loyal and caring no matter how much life changes. We also learn that kindness is one of the greatest gifts we can give to each other.
